A port city on the Northwest coast of the Illumian Empire, Dryman’s Landing is where many ships from Laceron and Rivermaw come to trade. It is also a stopping point for merchant caravans who work their way around the sea-cliffs, and prefer to have the shore to navigate by as opposed to a barren, empty desert. For this reason, Dryman’s Landing has become one of the most mercantile settlements on the continent. It’s a common, and hardly exaggerated joke, that you can’t walk through the streets without someone trying to sell you something. You can’t talk to anyone without being sold something. Help that nice old lady try to avoid that goblin trying to sell her something? Oh, look, now she’s trying to sell you something.
Unfortunately, there is such a concentration of merchants in Dryman’s Landing that few of them ever manage to turn a profit. However, when one does, he becomes as rich as a Kyuran. These rumors keep Dryman’s Landing alive in the form of a neverending gold rush.
