Long ago, the third tribe to make itself apart of Akheta were the Ritta. Travelers from a foreign country, the Ritta knew little about magic, but much about technology. Originally foreigners, they crossed the sea to arrive at Malia, in exile from a long-forgotten foe that had conquered their land. (Perhaps Galara) Desperate, they landed in the desert, on what is now Curveport. After forming a settlement there, a brave group of men ventured east, into the desert, and found both the Shatra lake, and the Akhetans. They begged for the Kyurans to share their magical secrets with them, and willingly joined the Illumian Empire as part of their quest for knowledge.
In modern times, Rittans are no longer just an ethnicity, but a caste. In Illumian society they are the practical thinkers, the merchants, the middle class. They strive for new ideas and technology, and often have more freedom, with neither the responsibility of the Kyurans or the burden of the Lask. Rittan mages exist, and are often more preoccupied with creating magical items than anything else.
