Yunara is the goddess of storms, the creator of air, atmosphere, the controller of winds and weather, and the third of the three heavenly siblings. She is staunchly loyal to her brother, Eoan, and given her flighty sister, she considers it up to her to protect him. Yunara represents familial duty, and is worshiped as a goddess of the hearth. In return, she blows her seeds across the fields and allows Alira to plant them, Alira whom she has a complex contentious relationship with. She approves of the other goddess’s springing of families and life, but disapproves of the impulsive and inconsistent ways in which she goes about controlling love and lust.
Yunara, like Solaris, is a goddess of honor. Like her sister, she does not always rely on mortals to do her work, but punishes those who she sees fit to punish. Unlike her sister, Yunara is a goddess of absolute justice, and all of her most violent storms are a purging of sin. Yunara was the one who came down on Felok, and declared that kinslaying would henceforth be the greatest sin. She is often Solaris’ ally in his dispensing of punishment, but stops short of prejudicial attacks, instead judging every sin on a case-by-case basis. On the rare occasions when an entire civilization both angers Vodama and is sinful enough to demand Yunara’s wrath, their joint assault is violent and terrifying.
As mentioned before, Yunara does not call for mortals to join her, she considers herself above such vanity. But those who choose to, anyway, comprise the Storm Maidens, a group of women who have forsaken families and chosen to be “the mothers of all.” Their presence is rare, and they only appear when great, powerful, and widespread evil is occurring.
